Repairing a chip in a marble sculpture can be done. There are a couple ways you can do it. Most carrara marble sculptures are a combination of fine crushed marble and resin (glue). You can try two recipes with somewhat similar results.
1.-Crazy glue mixed with certain powders such as baking soda or rice flour creates instant plastic with a somewhat translucent quality similar to marbles
and alabasters. Mix in some powdered stone the color of the stone you are filling for a color match.
2. Second, you can go to your local marble company. They should be able sell you a kit that matches close to your carrara marble. The kit will contain marble dust and epoxy. Most directions for mixing and filling will be either for countertops or marble floors. However the technique will be the same for your sculpture.
If you need to sand any imperfections be gentle and use a high grit sandpaper. I would also recommend that you mix up a small batch and let it dry fully and compare color before you fill in the chip. I hope this helps.
