How It's Made
Starting in the 1980’s, Argentinean artist and sculptor Guillermo Forchino created sculptures and scenes that often resemble the world of comic strip and cartoon characters. These unusual subjects such as a family leaving on vacation in an overloaded car with flat tires, or a tired old American pick-up truck from the 1950’s with equally tired passengers became instantly popular at art shows and exhibitions around the world. The originals became high sought after by collectors and often disappeared from the public view.

It was at this time the “Comic Art of Guillermo Forchino” was created. His vision was to create limited edition and open edition artworks that could be enjoyed by many people around the world. Currently residing in Paris, France. His studio is only a few steps away from the world famous Père Lachaise cemetery. At his studio he sculpts original models by hand using such materials as paper mache and clay. Once he is satisfied with his model. He then oversees the reproductions and hand finishing of each sculpture by skilled artisans.

These reproductions are fully handmade and hand painted, just like the originals. Some of these artworks are reproduced in the same size as the original that Mr. Forchino created, some are reduced in size to 50 or 75% of the original. All the reproductions are cast using fine artist grade resins and paint. The final compilation gives you an amazingly funny work of art that you or a recipient can enjoy for years to come.
