The Isle of Lewis Chessmen are a collection of 12th century chess pieces that where discovered in 1831 on the Isle of Lewis, off the coast of Scotland. The pieces are made of walrus ivory and whales teeth. They are believed to crafted in Norway around 1150 AD.
